Kosovo has banned imports of honey and potatoes from North Macedonia, Trade and Industry Minister Endrit Shala said on Friday, adding that this was in response to the tariffs imposed on imports of fish products by Skoplje.

Shala wrote on his Facebook profile that he had been in contact with the authorities in Skoplje since June when the tariffs were imposed and that the complained to the CEFTA (Central European Free Trade Agreement) Secretariat but decided to introduce the reciprocal measure after not getting a response from his counterpart in Skoplje.

He said other measures would be imposed if the tariffs remain in place, not only against North Macedonia but also other countries which are not securing equal treatment for products from Kosovo.
