Serbia will start exporting pork meat to China in November along with milk products, apples and corn, Agriculture Minister Branislav Nedimovic said on Friday.

“We agreed on exports of pork meat with no limits, no quotas, as much as we can produce and however much they want and can buy and this is the biggest market in the world and pays the best,” Nedimovic told the Serbian state TV (RTS).

He said that the starting point under discussion is some 50,000 tons of pork meat, adding that Serbia produces some four million pigs a year.

Nedimovic said that negotiations are underway with China’s biggest fruit importer to set up a regional purchase center in Serbia.
