Half of Serbians can’t afford vacation

More than half of the population of Serbia over the age of 16 couldn’t afford a week’s vacation, the European Union’s statistics agency (Eurostat) said on Wednesday.

According to Eurostat data for the year 2017, 56.9 percent of the population could not pay for a week away from home. The agency did not include data for 2018 in its report.  

Eurostat data showed that the highest percentage of people in Serbia who could not pay for a week‘s vacation was in 2010 when 74.2 percent of the population could not afford a holiday.
