A court in the western Serbia town of Cacak has ordered a ruling party MP to pay opposition Dveri movement leader Bosko Obradovic damages for making false claims against him in public.

The Basic Court in Cacak ordered Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) MP Marko Parezanovic to pay Obradovic 100,000 Dinars (1 Euro – 118 Dinars) for damaging his reputation and honor. The court ruled that Parezanovic had to be fined because of allegations at an SNS news conference that Obradovic was laundering money.

The ruling quotes Parezanovic as saying that “Obradovic personally laundered the money he got for a campaign for presidential elections”. The court rejected Obradovic’s demand for 300,000 Dinars as unjustified.

Parezanovic also has to cover 38,000 Dinars in expenses.
