Serbia’s Prime Minister Ana Brnabic condemned the threats N1 Kosovo correspondent Zana Cimili received on social networks in Serbian, saying they were atrocious and unacceptable, N1 reported.
Cimili received severe menace on social networks against her and her family’s physical integrity, the Beta news agency reported late on Thursday.
The person who made the threats said it had “a life desire to kill an Albanian, even an Albanian child,” adding it hoped “for a new war in Kosovo during which the Albanians will feel Serbian rage.”

“The atrocious threats to N1 journalist Zana Cimili are unacceptable and deserve condemnation. It’s difficult to imagine that in the 21st century someone can threaten to anyone without being punished,” Brnabic said from Poznań where she attended the Western Balkans Summit.
She added she expected the respective institutions to react as soon as possible and find out who is behind these threats and sanction them appropriately.”
Brnabic said media should have conditions for undisturbed work and professional job, adding that when such speech was not sanctioned, there were no minimum conditions for that.
“As the Prime Minister, I appeal for an urgent apprehension of those responsible, and I hope that similar cases won’t happen again. I wish Zana Cimili all the best in her work which she does professionally and with integrity,” Brnabic said.
