Ljajic: little progress in regional cooperation

Serbian Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic said the Western Balkans had not made too much progress in regional economic cooperation despite all the stories of a common economic area.

“I’m afraid that we have not made much progress from the many promises made at previous summits and that we have made no tangible progress except for the regional roaming agreement,” Ljajic told N1 in Poznan at the Berlin Process-Western Balkans summit.

“We talk about a common economic area but today we have the same border crossing that we had in the former Yugoslavia. Trucks spend 80 percent of their time at border crossings,” he said.
