Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Friday that he wants the police to have the best conditions and equipment like their counterparts in the best police forces in the world.

Speaking after an exercise by graduates of the Center for Basic Police Training in Kula, Stefanovic said the center improves its training programs every year. “These are not people who will allow anything that was topical five or 10 years ago to remain topical today but, instead, they adapt their training to contemporary conditions,” he said.

Stefanovic told the center graduates that the exercise was a good opportunity to see their training in practice and allowed them to learn more about the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ), Gendarmerie, Police Brigade, Intervention Unit, Security Unit and other branches of the Serbian police.

The minister and Police Director Vladimir Rebic said that the Serbian police has significantly better equipment, vehicles, uniforms and weapons than before.
