The Brussels Agreement on the normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina is left "stuck in the mud" because of the bad messages and tariffs imposed by Pristina, said Serbia’s European Integrations Minister Jadranka Joksimovic said on Sunday.

“The Brussels agreement is stuck, partly because of the mud of the unilateral tariffs and bad messages that are coming daily from Pristina, and partly because a platform which the parliament of so-called Kosovo adopted, breaks away a wheel from the carriage of the Brussels Agreement, so the carriage is now going downhill,” she told ‘Politika’.

Serbia has meanwhile been acting “in a civilised and European manner” and has implemented what was signed, she said, adding that Belgrade seems like “a lone guardian of agreed-upon diplomacy.”

She also commented on the recent summit of Western Balkan leaders in Berlin, which was organised by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, saying that it was important because it is maintaining contacts at a high level but that any resurrection of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina must come parallel with the abolishment of the aforementioned tariffs.
