A Kosovo Serb lawyer said on Tuesday that the war crimes cases which the EULEX mission handed to Kosovo courts will be difficult for indicted Serbs.

Lawyer Nebojsa Vlajic said that the accused Serbs will now have to prove their innocence to people who aren’t capable of taking the right decision. “Only the Basic Court in Pristina can try war crimes cases and it’s judges are all Albanians. Those cases can’t be tried in Kosovska Mitrovica where there are some Serb judges,” he told the Serbian state TV (RTS).

According to Vlajic, the indictments are secret mainly out of political reasons and added that there are 11 indictments that he is aware of at present but that many more can be expected.
