Belgrade University students staged a gathering on Wednesday under the slogan I Think So Arrest Me to protest the arrests of fellow students who took part in the 1 in 5 Million protests over the weekend.

Students from several university schools carried banners saying, among other things, Students for Export, Arrests Stop the Brain Drain.

They chanted Come With Us and Students Aren’t Silent to the beating of a drummer as they walked past the University Law School along the central Kralja Aleksandra Boulevard towards the Serbian state TV (RTS) building.

They told N1 that their main demand is an end to violence in the country and no arrests of high school and university students. They also demanded freedom of speech and free media.
