Reporters Without Frontiers says RTS should be impartial

The Reporters Without Frontiers (RSF) organization said on Tuesday that the Serbian state TV (RTS) should report impartially and should not ignore the 1 in 5 Million protests across the country, the Independent Journalists Association of Serbia (NUNS) said in a press release.

“But a public broadcaster is not a propaganda tool and should provide impartial news coverage, whether the gov. likes it or not. The RTS must stop ignoring those who have been demonstrating for 3 months and should cover this wave of protests in full,” the RSF said on its Twitter profile.

The NUNS recalled that an RSF delegation met with President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade in January and said after the meeting that it expects positive changes in terms of media freedom in the country and condemned the lack of independence in a number of Serbian media.
