Serbian human rights organization’s offices vandalized

The offices of a Belgrade-based human rights organization has been vandalized with ultra-nationalist messages written of the walks.

The corridor leading to the offices of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights was spray painted with the words Ratko Mladic Serb Hero, No Division and others and a sticker with the portraits of eight prominent historic Serb women saying This is a Serb Woman and You Aren’t Even It’s Shadow on the doors.

The organization said the vandalism came in reaction to the fact that its activists painted over graffiti saying Ratko Mladic Serb Hero, Kosovo is Serbia and No Division two weeks ago in the Terazije Tunnel.

“The graffiti that we painted over instead of the city communal services and the graffiti on our door come from under the same nationalist, misogynist cloak. Human rights activists are always attacked first when nationalist muscles are flexed,” the Youth Initiative said in a press release.
