A bomb scare led to the evacuation of a court in the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad on Tuesday.

A police press release said that the city’s Basic Court was evacuated after a bomb warning was called in, adding that the tip turned out to be false.

“An unidentified person called the Basic Court telephone exchange at 09.42 am and warned that a bomb had been placed in the court building. The warning was found to be false following an inspection of the building and surrounding area,” the police said.

The press release said the Basic Public Prosecution classified the false warning as the criminal act of causing panic and unrest.
