Serbia’s population policy Minister Slavica Djukic Dejanovic on Tuesday called local authorities to apply for population policy grants.
The minister said all local authorities in the country can send applications under a public invitation for grants to co-finance population policy measures in 2019 which closes on March 7.
Djukic Dejanovic told the Serbian state TV (RTS) that local authorities should set priorities in implementing population policies and ask for instructions before applying for the grants.
The minister said that local authorities should focus on funds for young parents, providing portable equipment for health care centres and balancing work and parenting.
Local authorities can apply for the grants if they have earmarked funds to implement population policy measures and have formed bodies or appointed officials to implement those policies.
