President Hashim Thaci said on Thursday that he has given guarantees to US National Security Advisor John Bolton that Kosovo will remain committed to continuing the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

Thaci said on his Facebook profile that he is convinced the dialogue will resume soon and will end with a comprehensive agreement which will include mutual recognition and membership in NATO, the European Union and UN.

The Kosovo president said he spoke by telephone with Bolton, discussing the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and a partnership with the United States.

Bolton spoke to Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj a day earlier, an official of Haradinaj’s Alliance for the Future of Kosovo said adding that they discussed the 100 percent tariffs imposed by Pristina on goods from Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Washington has been pressuring officials in Pristina to revoke the tariffs and resume talks with Belgrade. Thaci told Radio Free Europe earlier that he had called Kosovo officials to take strategic steps and suspend the tariffs.
