Serbia, Greece, Romania and Bulgaria to jointly bid for 2028 European Cup

Serbia, Greece, Romania and Bulgaria are considering a joint bid to host the 2028 European Cup and the 2030 World Cup, Serbia’s Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said Saturday.

Vucic agreed with the PMs of the three other Balkan countries to form an initial organisational committee that will be consist of four representatives from each of the four states and that the bids will be submitted in December 2021 and the decision will be announced in June 2022.

„We are ready to start building the national stadium next year as well as several other stadiums throughout Serbia,” Vucic said.

With Bulgaria’s Boyko Borisov, Greece’s Alexis Tsipras, Romania’s Viorica Dancila, Vucic discussed the completion of a highway toward Macedonia and Bulgaria as well as the improvement of the railway system toward Macedonia and Greece and the highway from Vrsac to Temisvar.
