Serbian government advertises sale of Danube port

The Serbian Ministry of the Economy has published a new tender for the sale of the Port of Novi Sad on the Danube river.

The invitation for offers said that the starting price for the port is 7.99 million Euros which is half the 15.98 million that was set at the previous tender which attracted no offers.  

The offer is for the purchase of 99.4 percent of the shares in the port and the deadline for is January 18, 2019.  

Companies which have at least 10 years of experience with ports and have reported an income of at least 30 million Euros in 2017 can bid for the Novi Sad Port. Those companies also have to have transferred at least 1.4 million tons of cargo a year over the past three years.

The Port of Novi Sad is the only port in Serbia with a majority share held by the government. It processes a million tons of goods a year and has a capacity of more than 2.5 million tons with 150 employees.
