Serbia’s Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic says on Friday it is unreal for the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue to continue as long as Kosovo accuses Serbia of having a hostile attitude toward it, the Beta news agency reported.

Dacic told a joint news conference with a Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov that Pristina was obstructing the dialogue with Belgrade and threatened the European Union to get visa liberalisation.

“They (Pristina delegation) are obstructing the dialogue. They threaten the EU, not us. They cannot scare Serbia,” Dacic said.

He added Belgrade would not be an obstacle to the dialogue, but it could not accept pressures and conditioning.

Dacic said Kosovo “has been suffering defeats and failures on all political fronts,” and that it needed something for domestic use.

Commenting on Kosovo’s application for the Interpol membership, Dacic said there would be a cocktail in New York on Tuesday where a discussion on Pristina joining Interpol would take place.

“(The US outgoing ambassador to the UN) Nicky Haley will have an introductory note… And then someone asks us – ‘why you go with Russia’? Well, who shall we go with? We go with friends,” Dacic said.

He criticised the Western states for supporting Kosovo’s Interpol membership, while at the same time refusing to grant its nationals free visa regime.

“As far as we are concerned, Kosovo cannot join Interpol, but feel free to award them visa liberalisation,” Dacic said.
