Serbia’s President is satisfied with the current US administration “remaining open and ready to discuss all suggestions so the chance can be taken in reaching a compromise” over the Kosovo issue, he told US Congressman Ted Poe on Saturday.

Poe is the Co-Chair of the Congressional Serbian Caucus in the US. He has “supported the stance that Belgrade and Pristina must be given space and time to reach a mutual agreement,” Aleksandar Vucic’s office said.

Vucic thanked Poe for his long-running engagement within the Serbian Caucus and his support in strengthening relations between Serbia and the US and the better understanding of the Serbia’s position and politics within the US administration.

Vucic has “especially stressed the letter which Congressman Poe has, together with seven of his colleagues in the US Congress, sent to State Secretary (Mike) Pompeo four days ago,” which asks for bigger US support for Serbia in regard to Kosovo, saying it is an example of a „serious approach toward the situation in the Western Balkans, which helps everyone in the region.”
