The European Commission has approved 30.5 million Euros for the reform of the public administration in Serbia, the Ministry of Statement Administration and Local Government said on Wednesday.

The press release said that the money was the first installment paid under a sector reform agreement.

Minister Branko Ruzic said the money was approved following efforts by the government to stabilize public finances, reform the public administration and meet obligations in the European integration process.

He said legal frameworks have been improved, especially in human resources management, the quality of services to the population upgraded and greater transparency secured.

European Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimovic said that the public administration needs to increase its capacities to focus on European integration and draw funds available in European Union funds.
