An ethnic Serb Croatian parliament member had food thrown at him while passing by a restaurant in central Zagreb, the Serb National Council of Croatia said on Friday.

Milorad Pupovac and fellow MP Boris Milosevic (both of the Serb Independent Democratic Party) were passing by a restaurant at an open air market in the Croatian capital when food was thrown at them from behind.

The Serb National Council press release said that this was not the first verbal or physical assault on Pupovac, who chairs both his party and the Council and added that a political and media campaign was underway against both Pupovac and his party.
