Serbia is determined to find a solution to Kosovo issue, but it has to be a compromise which will take care of some vital interests of Serbia’s state and its people, President Aleksandar Vucic told the US ambassador Kyle Scott on Friday, the FoNet news agency reported.

The agency said that the two exchanged opinions on ideas for a lasting solution in Belgrade – Pristina dialogue.

According to a statement from Vucic’s office, Scott reiterated the US support to finding a solution which would be applicable and lasting and would not endanger the regional stability.

Vucic and Scott also discussed the US support to Serbia on its way to the European Union.

They agreed that the bilateral relations between Belgrade and Washington were on the rise and that there were possibilities for stronger economic cooperation, following some US companies increased interest to invest in Serbia.

Vucic said that Belgrade was ready to improve relations with NATO, as with other military alliances, but that it would remain neutral.

Scott said he was glad Serbia would host an exercise of the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC), NATO’s principal civil emergency response mechanism in the Euro-Atlantic area.
