The Serbian president has announced a rise in average salaries by the end of this year, the Beta news agency reported on Tuesday.
President Aleksandar Vucic said that the average salary would rise to at least 470 Euros this year. “The average salary in Serbia was 426 Euros at the end of May and will draw close to 500 Euros before the next rise in public sector salaries,” he said.
Serbia will rank first in the region in terms of average salary and economic growth, Vucic added.
Commenting the new arrangement with the International Monetary Fund, the president said that Serbia does not need financial aid. According to him, cooperation with the IMF is important because of foreign investors and to confirm that the country is economically and financially stable.
