The leaders of the opposition Alliance for Serbia agreed on 30 common points on which to join forces to strengthen its position against the ruling coalition, the Blic daily reported on Friday.

They said they would sign the agreement by the end of the month.

Five opposition parties’ leaders took part in the formal discussion of the meeting at the Zlatibor Mt., while during an informal part the leaders of the two nationalist and anti-EU political organisations joined them.

Earlier this week, the Alliance of Serbia, that is seen as a pro-European and democratic bloc, has not ruled out a coalition with the two nationalist and Eurosceptics – movement Dveri and the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS).

Another democratic opposition movement said on Wednesday it would also form a bloc which could be open to the coalition with Dveri and DSS as well.

Fractured Serbia’s opposition seems to be trying to form a bloc strong enough to challenge the President Aleksandar Vucic’s ruling coalition seen as both the nationalist and pro-European.
