Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday that he would propose a solution for Kosovo and allow the Serbian people to decide.
“There is nothing nice about Kosovo that we can get and offer the people. Only hardship and difficulties. I will stand before the people and make my proposal. I won’t hide and the people will decide their own future,” he told reporters after a joint military-police exercise in the city of Kraljevo.
Vucic said the population has to be informed of the consequences of any decision, adding that he still hasn’t decided what to offer. He said a decision on the referendum will be taken after a compromise solution is found which does not inflict harm on the citizens.
“We are still far from that solution,” the Serbian president said.
