Russia and Serbia are planning to hold a joint military exercise in mid-August, a senior general told the Russian military’s official newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.

Russian Western Military District commander Colonel General Andrei Kartapolov said that the exercise would be one of the most important international military cooperation events this summer.

General Kartapolov was chief of the Main Operations Directorate and deputy chief of General Staff at the start of the Russian engagement in Syria.
