Ivica Dacic, Serbia’s Foreign Minister, warned London on Friday not to reduce the number of United Nations Security Council sessions on Kosovo, saying Belgrade would not see it as a benevolent gesture.

Britain said it might put on agenda an idea to cut down the number of UN SC meeting about Kosovo or to entirely abolish them as of August when the UK takes over the Security Council Presidency.

Dacic passed this Belgrade’s reaction to the British envoy to Serbia Denis Keefe and the UK’s diplomats in the UN, a Belgrade daily Vecernje novosti reported.

So far, every three months the Secretary-General used to inform the UN SC sessions on Kosovo.

But, Dacic warned that if Britain managed to cut the number down or abolished them totally, it would jeopardise the regional stability.

Britain will host a European Union-Western Balkans meeting in London in July.
