Serbia’s deputy Prime Minister Zoran Mihajlovic has been appointed to the World Bank Advisory Council on Gender and Development, the Coordination Body for Gender Equality said on Wednesday.

Mihajlovic, who chairs the Coordination Body, was invited to join the Council at the invitation of World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva, the press release said.

Mihajlovic said the invitation is proof that the efforts of the Serbian Coordination Body “have been recognized at global level”. “Serbia has included gender equality among its priorities in structural and public policy reforms,” she said.

Mihajlovic is Minister of Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure in Prime Minister Ana Brnabic’s cabinet.
