The European Court of Human Rights ordered Serbia to pay EUR 150,000 in damages
Serbia was ordered to pay almost EUR 150,000 in damages by the European Court of Human Rights in 2017.
The total of EUR 147,000 awarded by the court is higher than the amount awarded a year earlier, according to a Council of Europe (CoE) report.
The Serbian government paid the damages on time in 21 cases last year, the report said adding that no information was available about 24 other cases in which damages were awarded.
The CoE Committee of Ministers report said 38 cases were filed against Serbia in 2017, compared to 24 in 2016.
