Bosnia-Herzegovina

A total of 708 people tested positive for the coronavirus and 76 COVID-19 patients passed away in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past 24 hours, while 1,290 recovered from the disease, healthcare authorities reported on Wednesday.

In Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity, 3,747 people got tested and 323 of them were positive for the virus while 56 people treated for the disease passed away. In the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), 326 of the 1.026 tested since Tuesday were positive for the virus and 19 COVID-19 patients died.

Bosnia’s Brcko District also registered 59 new infections and one COVID-19 fatality. A total of 186,372 people tested positive for the coronavirus in Bosnia and Herzegovina since the beginning of the pandemic and 143,944 of them have recovered so far.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll is now 7,642. There are currently 34,786 active coronavirus cases in BiH.

Croatia

Over the past 24 hours Croatia has registered 3,099 new coronavirus cases while 41 people have died as a consequence, the national coronavirus task force reported on Wednesday.

That is a significantly higher number of infections and deaths compared to Tuesday when 1,936 new cases and 25 deaths were registered.

There are 13,880 active cases in the country, including 1,955 patients in hospital care, including 185 on ventilators.

There are currently 27,528 people in mandatory isolation. Since 25 February 2020, when the first case of coronavirus was detected in Croatia, a total of 297,973 cases have been recorded, and 6,399 people have died as a consequence of the disease.

A total of 277,694 have recovered from the disease, including 1,274 in the past 24 hours. As of 13 April, a total of 605,423 doses of vaccines have been administered, inoculating 491,601 people.

This includes only 113,822 Croatians who have received both shots and are considered fully immunized. Croatia has a population of around 4 million.

Kosovo

Over the last 24 hours, 14 patients died from COVID-19-related complications, while out of 4,557 tested people, 701 were positive on the coronavirus in Kosovo, Public Health Institute reported on Wednesday.

 The death toll stood at 2,022, while 84,328 patients have recovered since the epidemic outbreak.

At the same time, 486,970 people have been tested, and 99,536 have been positive for the virus.

On Wednesday, there were 13,186 active cases of the infection.

North Macedonia

North Macedonia’s Health Ministry said on Wednesday that over 24 hours, 33 patients died from COVID-19-related complications, while out of 3,610 tested people, 949 were infected with the coronavirus.

The death toll stood at 4,322, and 118,683 patients have recovered since the epidemic outbreak.

At the same time, 144,111 people were positive for the virus.

On Wednesday, there were 20,106 active cases of infection.
