A group of students from Trstenik, a city in central Serbia, posted a video on social media showing them bullying their teacher in the school classroom. Minister of Education Branko Ruzic stated that students who participated in the incident will be "punished most severely - expulsion from school is also possible."

„The statistics we receive from schools do not show an alarmingly higher increase in violence. It’s obvious that the media are interested in putting it in the foreground, and we are grateful to the media for pointing out the importance of this topic,“ Ruzic told the Kurir daily, stating that the cause of violence does not have to be at school.

Educational and disciplinary proceedings were previously initiated against three students of the Technical School in Trstenik due to the incident, which took place on November 9.

The students harassed the teacher and pulled a chair under her, after which she fell to the floor. The entire incident was broadcast live on social networks.
