Weather service issues level orange warning for Wednesday

Serbia’s Hydrometeorology Service warned of dangerous weather on Wednesday with temperatures peaking at 38 degrees C across the country.

A bulletin said that the day will be sunny and very hot with moderate westerly and northwesterly winds. The Service bulletin warned that this weather is dangerous for people with coronary ailments with people experiencing headaches and general weakness.

The meteoalarm.rs portal issued an orange weather warning which means that the weather poses a danger of people and animals and could cause some material damage. “The public has to be very cautious, risk-aware and regularly informed about the expected meteorological conditions,” it said. Orange is the second highest warning level issued by the Serbian Hydrometeorology Service.

The Serbian national weather service said that temperatures are expected to remain high to the weekend, reaching as high as 40 degrees C.
