The Serbian Health Ministry said on Friday that it had approved money to pay for two patients to receive medical treatment abroad from its budget fund.

A ministry statement said that it had approved 40,079 Pounds for the treatment of a patient at the Harley Street Clinic in London and 74,555 Euros to pay for the treatment of a second patient at the Proton Therapy Center in Prague.

It added that the allocation of another 108,000 Euros for the treatment of six more patients at the Acibadem Clinic in Istanbul had been proposed and that funds were approved to send five samples to laboratories outside the country.

The Health Ministry and Minister Zlatibor Loncar came under criticism from the public recently following a campaign to privately collect the money needed to send a child to a hospital in Barcelona for treatment.
