N1: No tensions in the north of Kosovo Izvor: N1

The KFOR units have reached the hydroelectric power plant on the Lake Gazivode and are securing it, but not due to possible incidents but because this is their regular exercise, N1's reporter Nenad Bozovic confirmed.

Armoured vehicles with armed soldiers were seen near the lake and, N1 unofficially learned, they had controlled the fishermen during the night, raided the guard's boot near the dam as well as the area around the dam, making sure there was nothing unusual in the area.

According to the reporter, they were now roaming near the road and the power plant, not controlling anyone.

The KFOR, which is a NATO-led international peacekeeping force, is responsible for establishing a secure environment in Kosovo.

N1's Bozovic said that tensions regarding possible incidents might have disturbed the residents in the northern part of Kosovo's divided town of Mitrovica but the citizens on the streets refused to give any comment on it. The many believe that, even if they happened, the incidents would not be commented a lot. According to the reporter, the residents of the southern part of the town did not seem to be disturbed either.
