Marko Nikolic, a fitness coach, said he would run a 1,000 kilometres from Serbia’s southern city of Nis to the Greek capital of Athens to motivate people to donate money for the treatment of the 15-month-old girl.

Teodora Cvetanovic has been diagnosed with a life-threatening hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, known as HLH, and has been undergoing chemotherapy for 41 weeks.

“Teodora urgently needs an operation for which 20,000 Euros have been donated, but it’s still 30,000 Euros short,” Nikolic said, adding he would start his run on July 15 with a daily route of 45 kilometres.

He said he planned to reach Athens in 20 days, hoping he would motivate people to donate the remaining sum by then.

The girl needs bone marrow transplant in Bologna.

Donations can be sent via SMS at 3030 (Foundation “Be Human”) with 494 code, to a local account number 160-503248-40 or the foreign currency account number 00-500-0002662-2.
