A man and a woman died on Wednesday when a sports plane, rented for a panoramic flight, crashed near an airport in Belgrade’s suburb of Zemun Polje, N1 reported.
The man was a professional pilot and the cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
Petar Vojinovic, the Tangosix website editor, has told N1 that this kind of accident is usually a result of a human error.
“It was an ultra light CH 601 plane,” he said, adding it was a relatively new one and that there was no chance that it was badly maintained.
“The control of such small sports airports is extremely strict, especially when a flight season starts, as it is the case now.” The flight, he said, was within the airport flying zone.
In April, Serbia's Air Force plane crashed some 40 kilometres from Belgrade, killing one of the two pilots on board
