There are no guarantees that Serbia will become a member of the European Union in 2025, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told Euronews on Wednesday.
“I don’t think anyone has every guaranteed that we will be part of the EU in 2025,” he said adding that Serbia has been on the road to the EU for 18 years and people sometimes feel exhausted. “There is no better solution,” the Serbian President said.
“We still have a majority of the population on our side. People are not longer excited but, rationally speaking, they are in favour of going towards the EU,” he said. Vucic said that an agreement on Kosovo is the main condition for Serbia’s EU membership, followed by everything else.
The Serbian President is in Sofia for a summit of EU and Western Balkans leaders.
