Serbia expects pressure from the European Union over its stand towards Russia, Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said.
“We expect a constant insisting on our obligation to fully align our foreign policy long before we become members of the European Union,” Dacic told reporters in Belgrade on Monday.
The Foreign Minister said he expects the EU to exert pressure on Serbia to join in the restrictive measures towards Russia and other countries. “We can’t treat our friends in just any way,” he said and added that that would not be in line with national and state interests.
“It would not be moral or politically correct for Serbia to call for support over Kosovo on one hand and join in imposing restrictive measures and sanctions against those countries,” Dacic said.
