Foreign Minister wants NATO reaction Izvor: N1

Serbia’s Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic wants NATO for an official reaction to the arrest and deportation from Kosovo of Serbian government official Marko Djuric last month.

Reacting to statements on the March 26 arrest of Marko Djuric, the head of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo, to the Beta news agency by unnamed NATO officials, Dacic said on Monday that he asked the NATO head of mission in Serbia for an official reaction from the Alliance, adding that he wants to know “if those statements [by the unnamed sources] are official and not just media claims”.

The Foreign Minister said Serbia had been given assurances earlier that Kosovo armed forces would not be allowed to enter northern Kosovo without the approval of the command of the international forces (KFOR) which was not given. Marko Djuric was arrested, handcuffed and expelled from Kosovo by a police special unit on March 26.

The Pristina authorities said that Djuric failed to observe the regulations for visits by Serbian officials to Kosovo.
