Dr Rade Panic, the head of the Doctors’ and Pharmacists’ Union told Nova S TV on Tuesday the Union had information the Government would re-introduce the state of emergency on October 1 due to the coronavirus epidemic.
He added the Union doubted the anti-epidemic Crisis Team had data it should have to decide validly.
Panic said, “we have seen many times that the Crisis Team doesn’t have proper and far from being complete information .”
“We now have numbers of infected and dead which by no means could justify what professor (Branislav) Tiodorovic and Dr (Predrag) Kon announced seven and three days ago respectively as a possible re-introduction of the state of emergency. Our latest information says it could be on October 1,” Panic told Nova S TV.
Tiodorovic, and Daria Kisic Tepavcevic, also a member of the Crises Team, later denied Panic's claim and described it as "disinformation," while Tiodorovic said it was a stupidity "which only fools could say."
Commenting on the dismissal of Military hospital’s heads of departments, Panic says it is revenge, enormous pressure and persecution of those who dare to say that something is not done correctly during the epidemic.
Serbia's authorities, without the Parliament decision, introduced the state of emergency on March 15 to prevent the spread of the epidemic. The Parliament confirmed the decision on April 29, and the state of emergency was lifted on May 6.
