Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke online with German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier about improving the business environment in Serbia.
A press release said that they decided to establish an administrative partnership between the president’s cabinet and the ministry to promote areas of cooperation. “This partnership includes reinforcing supply chains and additional links between Serbia and the internal European Union market as well as sustainable investments in stronger development of strategic industrial policy in Serbia in line with European green agreement,” it said.
Vucic said that the Serbian economy is an important mover for the Western Balkans economies and added that Serbian-German economic relations were developing quickly before the coronavirus pandemic. He said that trade had doubled over the past six years to reach some five billion Euro in 2019 with German companies investing more than 2.5 billion Euros in Serbia and employing 65,000 people.
The press release quoted Altmaier as saying that the partnership will significantly intensify cooperation to improve the business environment. He added that the partnership is a concrete contribution to Serbia on the road to the EU.
