Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic offered aid to Lebanon following the huge explosion that destroyed a large part of Beirut port.

The explosion in a warehouse full of ammonium nitrate killed at least 100 people and injured at least 4,000 others.

Vucic sent a message of condolences to his Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun along with the offer of aid to help deal with the fallout. “We were deeply shaken by the videos of the horrendous incident and in these painful moments we in Serbia share grief with our friends in Lebanon with deep condolences to the families of the dead. Our thoughts are with the injured and I convinced that you and the Lebanese state will provide all aid and support I send them wishes for a speedy recovery,” Vucic said in the telegram to Aoun.

“Serbia is prepared if necessary and within its abilities to offer aid in dealing with the consequences of the destruction of the capital of Lebanon,” Vucic said in the telegram.
