Bosnia’s State Court sentenced on Wednesday a former Islamic State fighter to three and a half years in prison after he struck a deal with prosecutors and confessed that he left Bosnia for Syria to join an ISIS paramilitary unit which the UN Security Council declared a terrorist organisation.

Armen Dzelko, 30, pleaded guilty to terrorism and to organizing a terrorist group in return for the 3.5 years-long sentence proposed by the prosecution and accepted by the court.

Dzelko was part of a group of 25 Bosnian nationals, seven men, six women and 12 children, who were transferred from Sarajevo in December last year from camps that had been established after the collapse of the Islamic State.
