UNICEF said on Wednesday that it had delivered 10 ventilators to the Clinical Center of Serbia, adding that more would be delivered to other hospitals over the next few days.
A press release specified that the Clinical Hospital Center Zvezdara in Belgrade and Kragujevac Clinical Center would get three ventilators each while the hospitals in Cacak, Valjevo, Uzice, Novi Pazar, Krusevac and Subotica would get one each.
UNICEF secured 50 ventilators for the Serbian health care system at the start of the crisis, UNICEF Serbia official Vesna Savic Djukic was quoted as saying by the Beta agency. She added that the ventilators delivered to the Clinical Center of Serbia are state of the art equipment fully compatible with the country’s health care system.
UNICEF has donated large amounts of protective equipment with the help of donors since the coronavirus pandemic broke out as well as thousands of aid packages to local families and care institutions and migrant centers.
