Serbia’s state officials’ average monthly salary is 1,000 Euro, but some of them, like Dusan Bajatovic, from the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) with up to 20,000 Euro, and the members of companies’ boards and the key people in the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) receive the much larger sum, nova.rs website has reported on Tuesday.

 At the same time, an average salary in Serbia in March was 507.5 Euro.

Bajatovic has been the best-paid politician in Serbia for years. He is the CEO of the country’s gas company Serbijagas with 1.388 Euro. Still, due to many functions he has the monthly sum on his account reaches 20,275 Euro or 40 times an average salary.

Danica Draskovic, the wife of Vuk Draskovic, the leader of the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO), receives a total of 6,500 Euro a month when her pension and payment for being a member of the NIS, Serbia’s oil company, Board are put together.

An advisor to Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic, also a member of NIS Board, Dragutin Matanovic, earns 6,670 Euro a month.

Dejan Radenkovic, an SPS official, also a NIS Board member has nearly 6,000 Euro, while as an MP and a member of the Board for Monitoring MTS Bank business, he is paid additional 782 Euro.

The NBS Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic has a monthly wage of 4,500 Euro after she reduced the wage of nearly 5,600 her predecessor had.
