Serbia’s chief epidemiologist Predrag Kon said on Monday that wearing face masks might become mandatory in case the situation with coronavirus worsened, but that right now it was “just a draft” of the decision, the FoNet news agency reported.
Kon told the Belgrade Prva TV, that all working places were risky for infection transmission, adding that the two-thirds of employees who were tested positive had no symptoms.
The measures should be respected, and if it was impossible to keep physical distance, masks should be worn, but that depended on companies’ rules. Kon said.
Besides, he added, “it is important for people older than 65 years of age and chronic patients, to wear protective masks.”
Kon said that wearing them outdoor had no sense, but that in public transport, shopping malls and cafes they should be the lowest level of protection.
