Montenegro’s Health Care Minister Kenan Hrapovic declared the country “corona free”, the national TV (RTCG) reported on Monday.

The minister said in a statement that Montenegro was the last European country to register its first COVID-19 case and the first that has managed to root out the coronavirus.

“In the days before us, responsible behavior and common care about health are our trump cards and we should be proud to carry the title of corona free state which has shown that it knows how to face and defeat the dangerous enemy that has conquered the entire planet,” Hrapovic is quoted as saying.

The minister said that the ministry and health care system will focus on monitoring, development and preparing to respond to indicators of the epidemic.
