Kosovo’s Finance Ministry said on Thursday that the World Bank has approved a 46 million Euro loan for an urgent COVID-19 project.

A press release said that the money will be used to reinforce the health care system. The loan was approved by the International Development Association (IDA) which is part of the World Bank.

Kosovo media quoted the press release as saying that “the funds will be used to prevent, discover and react to the threat posed by the coronavirus by enabling, among other things, the purchase of medical equipment and the strengthening of the public health system, increase testing capacities and expanding the capacities of the Infectious Diseases Clinic”.
