Montenegro's national television (RTCG) board announced that the song of the controversial Croatian musician Marko Perkovic Thompson was broadcast in their morning program by mistake.
"It should be noted that the text of the song was not problematic nor were there any political or nationalist connotations. Nevertheless, the board will examine the circumstances which led to the omission and take appropriate measures. Regretting the mistake, we note that there was over an hour of conversations and reports in the morning program, precisely on the topic of anti-fascism and remembrance of Victory Day in Europe with relevant guests. For the sake of malicious interpretations, we emphasize that the editorial policy of Radio Television of Montenegro is clearly based on the foundations of anti-fascism and European values," the TVCG board said in a statement.
On Saturday morning, the Day of Victory over Fascism in Europe, Montenegro's RTCG broadcasted a music video of the controversial Croatian singer Marko Perkovic Thompson, known for using the Ustasha greeting "For Homeland Ready" at his concerts and in one of his biggest hits.
