Fifty-six new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Croatia in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of such cases to 1,182, and three people have died, health authorities told a press conference in Zagreb on Sunday.

A total of 10,847 tests have been carried out to date, including 1,014 in the last 24 hours. Of the samples tested, 10.9% have been positive, Health Minister Vili Beros said.

Three persons have died in the last 24 hours - one each in Zadar, Dubrovnik and Osijek. They were all chronic patients of advanced age.

A total of 15 people in Croatia have died to date from complications caused by the COVID-19 virus.

A total of 374 persons have been hospitalised, 39 patients are on ventilators, and 125 have recovered.

Fifty-two percent of patients are male and 48 percent are female, and the average age of patients is 48.19 years.

"As you can see, our epidemiological line is still linear. Let's keep it that way by observing the measures recommended by the civil protection service," Beros said.
